My Client is a Sheffield based, family run business that provides  industrial services with over 30 years’ experience, working predominantly within the power generation and petrochemical industries.
To complement and strengthen their existing team, they are looking for a Commercial Assistant based at their Head Office. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Assistant Commercial Manager and provide commercial support to projects to ensure value is maximised and costs are reported in an accurate and timely manner.

Key Tasks
  • General commercial project administration
  • Producing cost summaries in order to request purchase orders for completed day works
  • Producing of detailed cost summaries for major projects
  • Preparing and submitting payment applications
  • Evaluating and submitting variation claims
  • Presenting financial performance information to Contract Managers
  • Identifying incorrect contract costings and requesting corrections
  • Assisting with analysis and reporting of cost and cash flow vs budgets
  • Ensuring invoices are submitted in a timely manner and in accordance with contract terms
  • Maintaining and updating the Eque2 Project Cost and Value Summary spreadsheet on a weekly basis
  • Organising project documentation in a clear and systematic manner
  • Producing and maintaining contract files
  • Providing support to the Commercial Manager as required
  • Providing support and guidance to the Administration Assistant
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Experience in a similar role
  • Experience of the Engineering Construction Industry would be preferred but not essential
  • Able to present data in a logical and easy to understand manner
  • Administrative skills
  • Good organisational skills
  • Good communication skills
  • IT literate
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Experience of using contracts management systems e.g. Eque2
