Commercial Manager - Building Services – North West England 
 
A multi-award-winning tier one building services contractor has an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced commercial specialist to join their business in the North West of England.

Responsibilities: 
  • The focus of this role will be to lead the commercial team to deliver M&E contracts through the lifecycle from pre-contract administration to final account
  • The Commercial Manager will help establish and manage the schemes budgets
  • Identify and appoint external contractors and consultants
  • Ensure the sub-contractors’ costs align with scheme budgets and are delivered to these figures
  • Oversee day-to-day commercial activities
  • Drive supply chain efficiencies to optimise profit level across projects
  • Work closely with the operations team and have joint control over the successful delivery of the schemes
What you will need: 
  • The role will suit an experienced commercial manager or a senior quantity surveyor looking for your next career move
  • Strong technical knowledge of the construction industry with experience on major capital commercial projects with M&E values of over £10 million
  • Must have worked for a Tier 1 M&E contractor or a company with an inhouse M&E capability.
  • Extensive experience of commercial processes associated with live D&B projects
  • Identifying and effective management of risk in the construction process
  • Experience of procuring contracts and exposure to resolving disputes
  • Proficient knowledge of measurement and valuation
  • Good knowledge of standard forms of contract and principles of contract law
  • Building services experience is essential
  • To be based in the north west of England
