Location: Sellafield Nuclear Power Station, Seascale, Cumbria 
Contract: Initial 7 months likely to beyond 
Working Hours: 40 hours per week - with potential of a 4 on 4 off rolling shift pattern

About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our clients for a Commissioning Engineer with specialist experience in nuclear in-cell handler testing. Reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering assigned commissioning tasks safely, effectively, and in line with project requirements.
This is a hands-on role requiring technical expertise, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to safety and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording, and assessing commissioning tests that may impact safety.
  • Deliver commissioning scope in line with agreed strategy, schedule, and budget.
  • Promote a proactive and balanced approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety.
  • Review commissioning progress and performance, implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Liaise with project personnel to obtain necessary permissions and minimise disruption.
  • Review and assess commissioning test results.
  • Provide input into related project processes including design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating, and knowledge management.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in nuclear mechanical systems commissioning.
  • Minimum HNC/HND in an engineering-related discipline or equivalent.
  • Strong background in nuclear commissioning.
  • Proficient in producing calculations using Excel.
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
  • Holder of a relevant trade card (e.g., CSCS).
