NRL’s client based in Redbridge, London is looking to recruit a Construction Manager to join them on a longterm contract basis until April 2026. This role is offered on an outside IR35 basis.

Experience with AGI/Compressor Stations or Gas Pipelines is preferred. Please highlight within your application. 


About the role:

  • Based on the AGI rebuild site at Redbridge, the individual will ensure the effective management and delivery of the project, ensuring programme requirements are met whilst working in line with both Company and divisional objectives and achieving the client and customer aspirations and expectations. To manage contracts to achieve targets in respect of safety, time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

Management of construction activities:

  • Constructability input into the planning phase of works.

  • Overall management of delivery teams during the build.

  • Resource planning to ensure suitably qualified and experienced personnel are available as required in line with the Construction programme.

  • Liaison with Project Manager to ensure resources levels are in line with budgeted expectations.

  • Ensuring project is on programme and managing any slippages to mitigate risk of overrun.

  • Ensuring comprehensive Method Statements and risk assessments are in place, reviewed and suitable for use on all sites works and that works are carried out in line with HSE and ULE requirements.

  • Quality- Ensuring standards of workmanship are maintained. Ensure completion of quality records, ensuring maintenance of process-capability.

  • Management and supervision of sub-contractors.

  • Liaison with the procurement department to ensure materials and equipment are ordered and delivered to meet the project programme requirements.

  • Preparing & maintaining the construction phase plans, inductions, toolbox talks alongside the site manager

  • Managing plant, equipment and materials to suit the programme delivery.

Control of costs:

  • Manpower

  • Materials

  • Plant and vehicles

  • Damages and thefts

Liaison with the Health & Safety Manager:

  • Working together to improve standards through joint site inspections and reviews of site monitoring results.

  • Dealing with improvement notices where applicable.

  • Adopting Client Best Practices and creating New Best Practices.

Liaison with the Project Manager:

  • Working together to ensure safety, quality and environmental standards are achieved.

  • Dealing with actions from technical audits.

  • Development / maintenance of competency levels for all site representatives.

  • Ensuring materials, plant, equipment & resources are scheduled and available to meet the site requirements.

Management of site personnel:

  • Recruitment

  • Discipline

  • Manpower planning

  • Employee development

  • Communication

  • Man management

  • Highlighting Training Requirements

Control of plant, equipment and materials:

Administration

  • Documentation. Quality records, as built information, time sheets, work records, allocation sheets etc.

  • Meeting with Planners, Contracts Manager, Senior Agents, Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience of delivering multidiscipline construction projects ideally with Gas Pipeline and/or AGI/Compressor Station experience.

  • Experience working with clients including National Gas, Cadent, NGN, SGN would be preferred.

  • Knowledge of construction methods and technologies and an ability to interpret technical drawings and contracts.

  • Knowledge of construction worksite safety practices

  • EUSR SHEA Gas competency

  • Supervisory Management Training

  • CSCS Managers Card

  • IOSH / SMSTS

  • Willing to travel on a weekly basis.

  • Full UK driving license

  • Temporary Works Coordinator/Supervisor
