I am looking for an experienced construction site safety supervisor to work alongside the project management team, to manage the Construction of a world first energy project for UK electricity transmission grid to construct two large synchronous compensation units.

Role Responsibilities:
• Manage, and control site work to ensure that contractors supporting the project are delivering safely in compliance with the relevant Clients standards, CDM regulations and the project HSQE Plan and own Safe Systems of Work.
• Review the Contractor’s Site Safety Plan and Safe Systems of Work (including Risk Assessments and Method Statements) to ensure that they are suitable and sufficient, using specialist support from within the project team where required
• Deliver contractor site induction and CDM induction briefings.
• Support the Project Manager with daily CDM meetings.
• Before any work is started, ensure that the Contractors have produced an effective Safe System of Work and includes a suitable pre-job brief.
• Inspect the Contractor’s activities regularly to ensure they are compliant with the agreed Safe Systems of Work.
• Carry out regular formal inspections of Contractor’s work – Record findings and place actions to correct where deficiencies are noted.
• Carry out a regular review of all Contractor safety documentation, ensuring that the control measures remain suitable, sufficient and relevant to the work being done and are being complied with.
• Provide oversight of construction activities in accordance with site license conditions.
• Support relevant safety audits/Inspection by key Client and key stakeholders.
• Keep a daily log of the Contractor’s activities.
• Ensure Contractors have suitable emergency/contingency arrangements in place in support of the sites arrangements.
Role Requirements
Relevant experience of managing or supervising construction activities within large power generation plants or complex industrial process environments ideally with a Civil engineering background.
An excellent communicator who can build successful working relationships between the client, Projects team and stakeholders.
Extensive working knowledge of the CDM Regulations.
Minimum required qualification: NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
