1042062 – Control & Instrument Technician

NRL are recruiting for an EC&I Crafts Person (C&I Biased) to work on a Power Station in the Northeast. This is a permanent opportunity to join a busy and friendly maintenance team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will carry out maintenance and repair of all plant and equipment relating to both electrical generation and fuel handling activities. The working pattern is Continental Shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Performing planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of electrical, Control and Instrument equipment.
  • Fault finding and rectifying problems on electrical, control and instrumentation equipment
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM’s).
  • Work to the site safety rules and safe systems of work (SSOW).
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist with scheduled and unscheduled outage activities as required, to ensure all aspects of Electrical work are completed to program, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Complete accurate maintenance reporting within the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Develop and implement engineering procedures, instructions, method statements, risk assessments and guidance documents.
Requirements
  • HV equipment experience including breakers, transformers and motors
  • Fault finding and rectifying problems on electrical circuits
  • Ability to read and work from EC&I drawings / documents
  • Motors / Switchgear cubicles (MCC’s)
  • Control panels and wiring standards
  • Variable speed drives (VSD’s)
  • Knowledge of calibration of instrumentation (Level, Temperature, Pressure, Flow etc.) is desirable
  • Knowledge of basic fault finding on control and instrumentation equipment is desirable
  • Experience / knowledge of safe systems of work including permit to work, method statements and risk assessments
  • Maintenance experience, preferably in a heavy process environment, often working under pressure and to tight timescales
