The Role:
Due to an internal move, we have a permanent vacancy for an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Design hub based at our Leeds office.  The main purpose of the role is to provide a high quality design and engineering service covering all aspects of building services on a wide range of projects. 

Main Responsibilities:

Support the design hub lead to ensure that optimised solutions are produced whilst maintaining our high quality standards and meeting budgetary and programme parameters. 
Assist in all design work in collaboration with the design lead and project teams. 
Participate in the technical review process and advise on any variances from plan and the possible corrective actions to be taken. 
Undertake schematic and detailed design of installations/schemes within the remit of the jobholder's specialist skill area. 
Conduct validation visits to sites to satisfy the installation satisfies the design intent.
Understand fully the project fee build up, cost allocations, forecast and programme to support the design lead in managing design costs. 
Assist the design lead in managing change on projects to enable additional costs to be recovered. 
Seek opportunities to mitigate risk and maximise profitability by providing proactive reporting to the design lead on any potential issues.  


A minimum of HNC in Electrical Building Services, Electrical Engineering or similar relevant subject.
Experience of LV electrical design on medium to large MEP building services projects, gained either with an MEP contractor or a design consultancy.
Experience in the use of DIALux, RELux, Amtech or similar design software.
Some experience of REVIT and 2D CAD systems would be beneficial.
