NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of a technical solutions provider with experience in delivering heavy engineering to precision for Document Controllers to be based in Workington. 


About the role:

  • Managing and maintain templates, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Control documentation in/out, including reproduction, collation, transmittal etc. and maintain an outgoing Document Control register.
  • Control, reproduce and issue of large scale Drawings to Workshops and maintain registers.
  • Interfacing with Manufacturing Workshops – manage and control all manufacturing drawings and restricted drawing held within the Workshops environment. (departments include Goods Inward, Industrial Engineers, Fabrication, Machine Shop and Assembly)
  • Compilation and completion of all the Lifetime Quality Records for internal and external Clients.
  • Build strong working relationships with internal Team Leaders, Sub Contractors and Suppliers to ensure information is distributed efficiently, and information related queries are dealt with quickly.
  • Work closely with Project Managers/Project Engineers in order to ensure all key project personnel are notified of incoming deliverables
  • File incoming documents, scanned documents and email attachments within the DMS
  • Maintain records of all outgoing documents within the DMS
  • Co-ordinate archiving of documents
  • Provide guidance within the business on the Document Management System processes and usage
  • Assist with the Training of new personnel on the DMS, and provide assistance with DMS Queries
  • Assisting departments with queries on documentation requirements and submissions

What experience you will need:

  • GCSE’s in Maths and English
  • Minimum 2 years’ Experience in an Administration Environment 
  • Proficient in IT and Microsoft Packages 
  • IT Qualifications - Desirable
  • An Awareness of Document Management Systems – Desirable
  • Basic Understand of Engineering Drawings – Desirable
  • Good Communication (verbal and written)
  • Good organisational skills 
  • Team Player
  • Ability to prioritise and multi-task
  • Working using own initiative
