Commissioning Technician (EC&I) – Night Shift
Location: Burghfield RG30 3RR
Reports to: Commissioning Manager
Contract Length: 52 weeks

About the Role
Our client is looking for a skilled Commissioning Technician (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) to join the team on the MENSA project. This role is critical in developing and implementing site commissioning arrangements across installation, commissioning, and handover phases, supporting the overall project lifecycle.
You will ensure all commissioning activities are carried out in line with approved procedures, reporting technical or safety issues promptly. The position may also involve supporting installation activities as required.

This role is a full-time site-based role – 11 shifts on, 3 shifts off

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to the Commissioning Quality Management System, applying procedures, codes, and standards correctly.
  • Provide functional input to commissioning deliverables and documentation (including test documentation and reservations).
  • Execute commissioning tests safely and on schedule, following SSoWs.
  • Accurately report job status to the Commissioning Manager or delegate.
  • Complete all commissioning records, results, and control raw data associated with tests.
  • Contribute to LTQR package compilation and review.
  • Promote safe site operations, including ESH focus cards.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Recognised Level 3 qualification in engineering or construction.
  • IOSH Working Safely / IOSH Managing Safely or CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • Electrical commissioning experience.
  • CSCS affiliated card.
  • All candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance - Applicants must have lived and worked in the UK for the last 5 years due to the nature of the project. 
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Previous commissioning experience in the nuclear industry.
  • 18th Edition IEE Regulations (Electrical).
  • Level 3 in Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.
  • Knowledge of loop testing and ability to interpret schematic drawings.
