Design Infrastructure. Power Nuclear Progress.

NRL are recruiting for an EC&I PDMS / E3D Designer to support a high-profile nuclear decommissioning project in Birchwood, Warrington. This is a 12-month contract (inside IR35) – ideal for a detail-driven designer ready to shape critical infrastructure from the ground up.

This is your chance to:

  • Design with purpose – create installable CE&I cable route infrastructure and plant layouts that are safe, smart, and future-ready
  • Deliver precision – produce schematics, SLDs, cable schedules, lighting/power circuits, and earthing schemes
  • Collaborate across disciplines – optimise design through cross-functional teamwork
  • Ensure compliance – apply relevant standards, specifications, and safety requirements
  • Lead by example – check and review other designers’ deliverables

Your Role:
We’re hiring for a hands-on designer who can:
  • Use PDMS / E3D to model CE&I infrastructure and generate automated drawings
  • Input into instrument hook-ups and loop diagrams
  • Interface with other disciplines to refine and optimise layouts
  • Work confidently in a regulated environment with nuclear-grade standards
You’ll need to bring:
  • Strong PDMS / E3D experience (CE&I focus)
  • Background in highly regulated industries (nuclear preferred)
  • Knowledge of UK statutory regulations and industry standards
  • Familiarity with Navisworks Freedom Viewer, AutoCAD, and MS Office
  • Capability to gain SC clearance
  • Bonus: CAESAR/Aveva experience
