Key Requirements
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within Process, Power Generation, Pharmaceutical, and Oil & Gas industries (essential)
- Strong technical knowledge of Electrical, Instrumentation, and Special Systems (essential)
- Electrical or Instrumentation Degree or Trade Qualification (essential)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar estimating role
Specific Objectives & Responsibilities
- Review client specifications and tender documentation in detail to fully understand scope and requirements
- Ensure all tender documentation is technically accurate, compliant, and commercially competitive
- Prepare and submit Electrical & Instrumentation tenders within required deadlines
- Develop a strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, with the ability to discuss and negotiate these with clients
- Liaise with customers to review, interpret, and clarify electrical and instrumentation specifications
- Attend site visits, client briefings, and pre-award meetings as required
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and sub-contractor quotations
- Maintain accurate electrical specification confirmations for all contracts, including identifying and costing variations, upcharges, and concessions
- Finalise tender bids and support the transition from tender stage to project handover, working closely with Project Managers
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Support project teams throughout the lifecycle of projects, from tender through to contract award and handover
- Work efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- High proficiency in IT systems and estimating tools
- Advanced user of MS Excel, with good working knowledge of MS Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities
- A proven track record of successfully delivering accurate and competitive tenders
