1042003 – Fabricator
NRL are recruiting for Fabricators for a site in the South of England. This role will be based on a military site, part of major projects and part of some of the most exciting engineering projects this country has to offer.
Responsibilities
You’ll play an integral role in ensuring the serviceability of warships and systems through detailed maintenance and refit periods by working within multi–trade teams.
You’ll undertake outfitting and light fabrication on board warships playing a key part in each upkeep. This will include working in a variety of compartments and with a wide range of materials including aluminium and steel.
A high level of attention to detail and careful, neat working are all important attributes that you should have.
You will be required to work to engineering drawings and technical specifications, under take surveys and examinations of part or components.

Requirements
You’ll have the ability to read engineering drawings and interpret work instructions, be competent in the use of hand held oxy–fuel burning tools and general workshop machinery and tools specific to fabricating (grinders, disc cutters, guillotines and band saws)
Ideally will have worked in the marine industry with experience of Royal Navy ships and submarines, Royal Fleet Auxiliary vessels or large commercial ships - although other relevant experience will be considered.
You’ll need to hold qualifications in at least one of the following:
Indentured Apprenticeship
OR
Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship in a sheet metal, structural steel or fabrication related discipline
OR
Level 3 Engineering qualification relevant to the role
