NRL are recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to work with a UK based engineering company, this company is a leading provider of sustainable solutions supporting the UK’s transition to Net Zero.


Role Responsibilities
 
  • Review the operation of the plant equipment and systems to minimise unplanned Downtime
  • Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Complete call out duties across several sites
  • Work safely in line with current HSE legislation and provide, assist and support the H&S team to ensure we delivery high levels of health and safety
  • Issue PTW and follow Safe work instructions under Risk assessments
  • Supervise contractors when required
  • All aspects of Operation and maintenance of Natural Gas and Diesel fired engines in your area on a day to day basis both mechanically and electrically
  • Complete planned service schedules on both engines and associated plants inputting relevant info into a computerised management system (CMMS)
  • Investigative fault finding and repairs to breakdown situations on both mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Order and organise site stock parts

Role Requirements
  • Operational mechanical engineering experience gained from a field-based role is essential
  • Experience of monitoring, operating and maintaining HV (high voltage) gas or diesel power generators is a must
  • Operational electrical engineering experience is preferred
  • Ignition, diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, configuration and servicing experience would be ideal
  • Experience of Jenbacher and/or Cummins engines would be advantageous
  • You must hold a valid full clean UK driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK is essential
  • The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The role will require excellent problem- solving skills and flexibility to work long unsociable hours.
