Role Responsibilities
- Review the operation of the plant equipment and systems to minimise unplanned Downtime
- Anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner and to identify opportunities for improvement
- Complete call out duties across several sites
- Work safely in line with current HSE legislation and provide, assist and support the H&S team to ensure we delivery high levels of health and safety
- Issue PTW and follow Safe work instructions under Risk assessments
- Supervise contractors when required
- All aspects of Operation and maintenance of Natural Gas and Diesel fired engines in your area on a day to day basis both mechanically and electrically
- Complete planned service schedules on both engines and associated plants inputting relevant info into a computerised management system (CMMS)
- Investigative fault finding and repairs to breakdown situations on both mechanical and electrical equipment
- Order and organise site stock parts
Role Requirements
- Operational mechanical engineering experience gained from a field-based role is essential
- Experience of monitoring, operating and maintaining HV (high voltage) gas or diesel power generators is a must
- Operational electrical engineering experience is preferred
- Ignition, diagnostics, repairs, rebuilds, configuration and servicing experience would be ideal
- Experience of Jenbacher and/or Cummins engines would be advantageous
- You must hold a valid full clean UK driving licence
- Right to work in the UK is essential
- The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. The role will require excellent problem- solving skills and flexibility to work long unsociable hours.
