As a Generator Winder you will repair, overhaul and refurbish generators and equipment on site and within workshops under strict supervision. You will dismantle, rewind, braze, insulate, brace, re-wedge, work with epoxies, retain ring removal & refit.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Inspects simple generator equipment for damage and evidence of malfunctions.

  • Refurbishes, tests and rewinds generators and equipment.

  • Support on dismantles and/or strips damaged or unserviceable mechanical equipment.

  • Operates mobile equipment, tools & machinery efficiently and accurately.

  • Maintains clean work areas, machines and equipment.

  • Ensures correct documentation is used and filled out as specified on inspection and test plans, work instructions and any quality documents as well as any records are correctly taken, reviewed and approved.

  • Ensures that work is carried out in a safe manner and that relevant Safety and Quality documentation is complete for the task in hand as well as all lifting equipment is correctly used, and prior to use confirms its current inspection status.

  • Ensures all work under their control is properly protected against damage whilst in the workshop or on site and correctly packages equipment for transport to ensure protection against damage.

Special Role Requirements:

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel globally when required on short notice.

  • Ability and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignments

Skills for Success:

You should be fluent in English with previous experience as a Winder or Fitter. You will also have:

  • Good communication, and people skills

  • Ability to demonstrate strict compliance to safety standards

  • Able to work in a team environment and cooperate with fellow workers.
