Job Title: Hazardous Area Electrician (Lead / Supervisory)
Employment Type: Permanent (Staff)
Location: UK-wide, field-based (regional coverage with national travel)

Role Overview
As a Hazardous Area Electrician, you will play a key role in supporting internal and external electrical projects across both Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Area environments throughout the UK. Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Support Manager, you will act as the lead on site, serving as the main point of contact and ensuring effective communication, safe working practices, and smooth project delivery.

This is a varied and rewarding role suited to a well-organised, technically proficient electrician with proven supervisory experience, who is confident leading site-based teams and working collaboratively with internal teams, contractors, and customers. Safety will always be your top priority.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of new customer LPG/LNG plant installations across the UK
  • Electrical inspections and rectification work on customer installations
  • Electrical inspections, rectification works, and full plant upgrades on company-owned installations
  • Off-site electrical assembly of:
    • LPG vaporisers
    • Pump skid units
    • Packaged boiler houses
  • Acting as the site lead, supervising electrical works and coordinating teams
  • Ensuring all work complies with relevant electrical, hazardous area, and safety regulations
  • Supporting effective communication between stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time
Location & Travel
  • Can be based anywhere in the UK
  • Field-based role covering a regional area
  • Flexibility required to support other regions
  • Regular travel and overnight stays required (approximately 3 nights per week)
  • Base Salary: £51,230.65
  • Overtime & nights away: OTE 
  • £30 per night away allowance
  • Company van and tools provided
  • Accommodation and meals fully booked when working away
Essential Requirements (Must Have)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (please note any points or penalties)
  • 17th or 18th Edition (BS 7671)
  • Inspection & Testing qualification:
    • 2391, or
    • 2391-52, or
    • 2394 & 2395
      (Candidates without this may still be considered and supported through training)
  • COMPEX certification
    (Candidates without COMPEX may still be considered and put through the course)
  • Approved Electrician status with:
    • Accredited apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
    • JIB Gold Card (or above)
  • Proven supervisory experience
    • Candidates must be able to demonstrate experience leading teams and taking responsibility on site
