NRL’s client based in Renfrew is looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineer on a long term contract basis supporting a Pharmaceutical project. Currently Home based with site visits required. This role is available on a PAYE basis only. 

About the role:

  • Provide specialist technical services and Subject Matter Expert (SME) services, support and advice to the relevant functions and departments as per company policies, engineering standards and industry practices on the specification, design selection, installation, operation, trouble-shooting and maintenance of various packages ie - rotating/static  machinery and Mechanical equipment.
  • Provide technical support and technically supervise all activities associated with specifying and ordering gas / steam turbine mechanical new build, equipment overhaul, repairs and troubleshooting for ensuring integrity of the equipment enabling continuity of operations.
  • Prepare work specifications for tendering purposes to ensure contractors understand Company requirements. Raise contract documents as and when required to ensure correct and timely action.
  • Work closely with engineering departments during the equipment purchase, review and agree the specification of new turbo machinery projects, additions to plant and replacement of obsolete equipment. Review bids and recommend acceptance.
  • Initiate, lead or participate as required, in failure investigations in accordance with the Company investigation procedures to recommend solutions and coordinate corrective action for gas / steam turbine mechanical equipment problems through detailed technical reports on all aspects of turbo machines conditions, repair and reliability.
  • Review and approve Materials of Construction (MOCs), Engineering drawings, PSSR, and related documents, develop work plans and schedules for gas / steam turbine mechanical equipment overhauls and scope of work and prepare maintenance programs for gas / steam turbines power generation mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with the Client's / OEM maintenance procedures and co-ordinate repairs to all major machinery items sent to sub-contractors for repair.
  • Must be a proactive self-starter and thrive within a driven and focused organization with minimal guidance
What you will need?
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Pharmaceutical experience essential
  • Strong knowledge of International Standards and related industry best practices.
  • Proven track record of analytical and good interpersonal and communication skills.
