NRL are currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join the team of a client of ours based in Chorley. The role is permanent.

About the role:

  • Successful delivery of the engineering content of assigned projects (portfolio) from bid to project execution and close out, ensuring the required quality standards are met first time and the best achievable contract profit and schedule are realised, while remaining cognisant of emerging risks and contract change.

  • Plan and implement engineering assurance activities to verify and validate designs against project requirements, applicable legislation, and conventional and nuclear safety.

  • Ensure engineering delivery is compliant with the company’s processes and procedures (or Client procedures where applicable).

  • Deliver opportunities through the robust challenge of processes and procedures to drive the cycle of continuous improvement to achieve ‘Excellence in Engineering’.

  • Ensure engineering content of assigned projects is appropriately resourced with suitably qualified and experienced people. Identify gaps in resource requirements and competencies to establish and implement personnel development plans, recruitment activities or subcontract works.

What you will need:

  • An engineering degree

  • Chartered status

  • Previous experience in the nuclear industry

  • Previous experience managing multi-disciplined engineering teams
