Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Building Services

A well-established innovative organisation has an opportunity for a highly motivated individual, with a background in building services and ideally a critical system environment.

About the role:
  • Reporting to the M&E Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor is to have technical skills in order to plan, complete, supervise company personnel and sub-contract works for planned and reactive maintenance to ensure the Compliance and Reliability of site Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor to be provided ensuring compliance within company Quality System and company Health and Safety policy.  Compliance Inspections to be recorded using company CMMS system and periodic reports created to show completion and forecast of tasks.
Requirements:
  • Provide Mechanical planned and responsive maintenance and supervision of mechanical technician tasks where carried out by others, including the direct liaison between company and Client to establish required Scope of Works, including appropriate planning of resources; manpower and material acquisition. Ensuring the timely completion of tasks to the highest standards of service provision
  • Health & Safety – Delivery of Tool Box Talks, daily task reporting and review H&S requirements of all tasks responsible for.  Where required review and assist in the production of Risk Assessments & Method Statements or ‘Take 5’ Pre-Task Risk Assessment.  Monitoring of tasks to ensure compliance to HSE Legislation and local H&S Policies
Provide, co-ordinate and supervise works as detailed in the Service Level Agreement such as:
  • Asbestos removal & sampling
  • Pressure systems
  • Domestic water systems
  • Gately water
  • F-Gas, HVAC & Air Conditioning
  • LEV Testing
  • Foul & storm water drainage
  • Passenger & goods lifts
  • Emergency showers
  • Process effluent
  • Industrial doors
  • Piped gas
  • Bottled gas
  • Gutter inspections
  • LOLER Lifting equipment
  • High level safety rails
  • Roads and pavements
Co-ordinate external contractors working directly for maintenance tasks:
  • Review 3rd Party Risk Assessments & Method Statements, issue site Permit to Work and monitor works ensuring Compliance with Site SHE systems.
  • Proactively check all facilities during works for damage and report to company helpdesk for repair
  • Ensure continuous development of processes in line with customer demands and legislation
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing for company, staff and visitors – maintaining appropriate risk assessments as required
  • Co-ordinates team member holidays in a manner that does not negatively impact necessary daily functions and Client requirements.
  • Performs other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned as directed by company Management in a timely manner with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be based in the North East of England
Skill Requirements:
  • Work in an organized manner, problem solving within the scope of the position.
  • Supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments to meet organisational timelines.
  • Identify, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors, and to develop processes. 
  • Communicate effectively in person, on telephone and by electronic means.
  • Effective use Microsoft Software, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
