About the Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Unit Manager to lead the BTech division, overseeing all aspects of performance, growth, and team development. Based in Bolton, this role is responsible for managing order intake, resource utilisation, product output, quality systems, and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe, tidy, and efficient working environment.
- Achieve agreed order intake, delivery, and profit margin targets.
- Ensure all products meet required quality standards.
- Implement and maintain the ISO 9000 Quality Management System.
- Manage team performance, attendance, and conduct.
- Communicate key business information effectively across the team.
- Manage customer relationships, ensuring high standards of delivery, quality, and professionalism.
- Develop and deliver growth plans for the business unit.
- Monitor and improve resource utilisation and minimise lost time.
- Uphold core business principles and cultural values.
- Continuously review and improve manufacturing practices in line with performance measures.
- Encourage skill development and collaboration within the team to achieve business and personal goals.
- Represent the business with professionalism and confidence in all internal and external interactions.
- Undertake any ad hoc duties commensurate with the role.
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar industry.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong understanding of drawings and specifications.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Sound understanding of profitability and general business management.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar management position.
- Good general IT skills.
- Determined, adaptable, and proactive approach.
