Role Overview:

The LOLER Specialist will be responsible for ensuring all lifting operations and equipment comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) and associated industry standards. This role involves planning, supervising, and auditing lifting activities to maintain safety and operational efficiency across projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with LOLER and company lifting standards.
  • Conduct inspections and certification of lifting equipment.
  • Prepare and review lifting plans and risk assessments.
  • Supervise complex lifting operations and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain accurate records of lifting equipment and operations.
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure safe lifting practices.
  • Support incident investigations related to lifting operations.
 

Required Competencies & Certifications:

  • BOSIET / FOET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training / Further Offshore Emergency Training)
  • Medical Certificate (valid offshore medical)
  • MIST (Minimum Industry Safety Training)
  • TAP01 (Technical Authority Protocol)
  • NVQ Moving Loads Level 3
  • OPITO Rigging Stage 3/4
  • WAH Unit 7 (Working at Height)
 

Experience & Skills:

  • Proven experience in lifting operations within the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of LOLER regulations and industry best practices.
  • Ability to develop and implement lifting plans for complex operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Competent in risk assessment and hazard identification.
 

Additional Information:

  • Must hold valid certifications prior to mobilization out of Aberdeen.
  • Dates required for 2 out of 3 trips.
