  • Aim for best in class O&M performance within the allocated Contract
  • Provide technical co-ordination of Contract operational, maintenance and project work activities and act as an Equans liaison officer when attending Client Project and Safety MeetingsJoint responsibility for the on-site compliance of O&M activities and competency validation of all staff
  • Provide excellent Customer / Client centred service where quality and image are particularly important
  • Provide Local Leadership Team with support to lead, manage and mentor all staff within the team ensuring adequate training and development to maintain skill set, competency and succession
  • Create and maintain high quality records and reports of operational and maintenance activities to deliver useful plant history data which complies with all relevant statutory requirements
  • Use the Procurement System (COUPA) to implement, monitor and review supply chain contracts including contractor provision for planned and unplanned maintenance
  • Site Management Contact for Gas Turbine – Siemens service level agreement. Arrange planned maintenance, expedite the correction of faults, discuss and manage obsolescence and contribute to contract renewal discussions
  • Be available for call out when business needs demand
  • Support others in fault diagnosis and repairs as necessary always ensuring a high level of General Safety
  • Ensure all work is carried out to the highest standards of workmanship and safety
  • Good understanding and previous experience of application of Safe Systems of Work / Safety
  • Rules for Mechanical systems including Confined Spaces and Hot Work management, authorisations & Permit to Work
  • Undertake the role with minimum supervision, focussing on the needs of customers and effectively following quality processes and procedures
  • Pro-active approach to SHEQ and identifying areas for improvement
  • Working flexibly within a small O&M team, contributes to defined operational and maintenance requirements in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with Equans SHEQ procedures, to deliver identified targets
  • Complexity: Describe the sort of thinking challenge that the job presents. What sorts of problems are dealt with by the job holder and what sort of problems are typically resolved at a higher level.
  • Develop and maintain effective O&M procedures, operating instructions, drawings, Risk
  • Assessments and Method Statements for the Site / Contract In conjunction with the Operations Manager and Technical Coordinator, take ownership for the planning and management of plant outages, major overhauls, preventative maintenance  schedules and routine maintenance activities ensuring alignment of Maintenance Strategy with that of the Client.
  • Using the Client Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) assist the Operations Manager and Technical Coordinator to manage all operational and maintenance tasks associated with the CHP and Utilities Services to ensure compliance and that the work is efficiently and effectively carried out and recorded
  • Ensure any parts required are clearly and accurately stated and procured within the Maintenance Management System and Procurement Systems
  • Demonstrates an awareness and understanding of headline contract requirements
  • Identifies to line manager / local leadership team, areas of health and safety innovation, improvements to performance / quality / efficiency and opportunities for cost savings Has the ability to understand and prioritise actions according to commercial ramifications
  • Demonstrates excellent working knowledge of Site Emergency Procedures and Business
 


Qualifications / Experience:
  • Extensive knowledge and preferably proven experience and delivery of process plant operations, engineering and maintenance
  • Extensive knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety legislation and its impact on day to day operations
  • Detailed understanding of the processes and systems required to develop and maintain a high standard of work quality
  • Degree/ or equivalent in relevant Engineering discipline
  • A formal health and safety related qualification e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent
  • Additional relevant qualifications as dictated by Site / Contract requirements to include Crane Supervisor, Lifting and Slinging Supervisor, Hot Working and Manual Handling Assessor, Scaffold Inspector
  • Gas System qualifications (essential)
  • Boiler Operation Accreditation Scheme (BOAS) trained (essential)
  • Professional membership (desirable)
  • Good fault finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good IT Skills having experience in operating a range of Systems including Microsoft Office
  • Suite and Maintenance Management System
