NRL are currently recruiting for a Principal Engineer to be responsible for the delivery of the Mechanical Building Services aspects and structural packages on the main 10 Dock Building.
This position will be an initial 6 month contract.
Responsibilities
Management of the Mechanical elements of the Buildings and 10 Dock structural packages
Provide Subject Matter Expert advice for mechanical engineering aspects within the Buildings MEP design
Provide Technical design guidance and review of mechanical design of elements including but not limited to mechanical building services (domestic water, steam, industrial gases), and HVAC systems
Manage and review inter-discipline and inter-system interfaces in the built environment using the integrated BIM model of the dockyard facility.
Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and effectively contributing to the project’s technical planning process.
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant subject
Nuclear, defence or marine system experience
Experience of design and substantiation of mechanical building services, including:
General HVAC systems and radiological implicated ventilation systems
Pressurised fluid systems such as domestic water, industrial gas and steam systems
Hydraulic gates and valves
Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Desirable)
Chartered Engineer (Desirable)
