As the Project Director, your role is critical in overseeing the successful execution of major and complex construction contracts. :

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality and Environment: Ensure that all aspects of quality, environmental compliance, and progress align with contracted, internal, and regulatory requirements.
  2. Resource Management: Manage employee resources, including providing cover for site staff during annual leave or training.
  3. Constructability Review: Review constructability and identify execution methods that offer commercial or program advantages where possible.
  4. Communication: Regularly communicate with BU MD/Regional Managers and advise the contract team on legal, safety, environmental, technical, or construction matters.
  5. Financial Monitoring: Monitor interim accounts, payments, progress, and profitability of the contract. Report findings during monthly cost meetings. Also, oversee QS Final Account and Loss and Expense negotiations, applying cost-benefit analysis to all activities.
Qualifications:

  1. Experience: At least 5 years of experience in Tier 1 Construction Leadership, overseeing site operations, staff, and client relationships from groundbreaking to completion.
  2. Education: A third-level construction qualification (e.g., construction management, engineering, quantity surveying).
  3. Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience reporting at a senior management/director level to both internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Additional Knowledge: While not mandatory, familiarity with IOSH/NEBOSH, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, Root Cause Analysis, and internal workshops (S5 & Q10) would be beneficial.
