NRL are looking for a Quantity Surveyor the Kinneil FPS Terminal operates dedicated flare systems for Trains 1 and 2, and Train 3.  Both systems are designed with elevated flares sized for maximum flare load, plus ground flares to help reduce visual/noise impacts. However, Kinneil ground flares have proved unreliable and difficult to keep available over many years.

About the role:

  • Measurement and valuation of works for fixed price, open book and target

    cost projects.

  • Interim payment assessments

  • Assisting Project Controls in Invoice Preparation to the customer.

  • Payment audits

  • Analysis and report writing

  • Development and application of construction cost estimating for changes during the construction/commissioning

  • Use of Microsoft Excel to develop data collection, costing and estimating

    spreadsheets

  • The collection, collation and analysis of construction cost data, using asset

    management hierarchies and statistical analysis techniques.

  • Analytical auditing and benchmarking of construction costs and preparing

    reports, including in-house auditing and reporting  

  • Responding to Sub-contractor Claims

  • Negotiating and settling Final Accounts and Subcontractor Accounts.

  • Claims preparation, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

  • Assisting Sub-contract Manager/Procurement Manager in preparing commercial part of the RFQ for construction contracts

  • Assisting Sub-contract Manager/Procurement Manager in commercial bid evaluation of the construction contractor bids

What you will need:

  • Experience of working on heavy lift engineering / installation projects

  • Previous experience within offshore installation activities in the offshore industry (either O&G or Renewables).

  • RICS QS qualification

  • Preferably Member of the Association of Cost Engineers
