NRL are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading M&E partner in the UK. Specialising in the design and installation of building services and infrastructure solutions, covering all aspects of M&E engineering.

 

We are looking to speak with Quantity Surveyors/ Site Surveyors for this position, based near Leeds, UK. Please See below for details. 

 

Job Details
  • Permanent
  • Full time: 42.5hours per week
  • Project based in Leeds City initially with other projects thereafter around North Yorkshire/ Durham area.
  • Office based with some WFH If desired
  • Commercial, MEP, Building services experience needed
  • Pre-Contract experience needed
  • Roughly 5 years experience preferably
  • Experience running own projects is preferable
  • Starting ASAP
 

 

The Project
  • Conversion of existing Shopping Centre into Student Accommodation with Retail offerings on the bottom 2 floors
  • The initial project is based in Leeds with an MEP value of £5m. 

 

 

The Vacancy

We have an opportunity for a Site Surveyor (MEP) to be accountable for the Development and Implementation of all pre and post contract strategies, commercial functions and contract reporting on delegated projects and or works packages within the MEP remit. We are looking for someone with pre-contract experience and would therefore consider individuals with a PQS background. You must have worked as a Site Surveyor already with experience of managing your own projects commercially.

Within the group, the client can combine greater commerciality with an integrated approach across their supply chain. 

This replaces traditional M&E procurement on some projects, working with specialist sub-contractors to implement a tailored approach on a project-by-project basis. This in-house platform complements their established external supply chain and with their specialist in-house technical teams fully integrated with the Construction team, we can deliver greater value. 

 

 

Key Accountabilities will include
  • Ensure the commercial function within the business unit effectively supports the operational teams in the implementation of H & S policies 
  • Regularly review and provide guidance and challenge on strategic project and business unit objectives 
  • Demonstrate personal drive and commitment to do a good job and get the right result 
  • Ensure the delivery of high quality commercial reports to the client on time 
  • Issuing of tender enquiries and package reconciliation 
  • Regular reviews group CR policies and ensure project teams are updated 
  • Agree external valuations/ cash flow to maximise project value 
  • Ensure M&V obligations are complete for relevant subcontract and main contract packages  
  • Ensure sub contract documentation is Group policy compliant
