The Senior Architect plays a crucial role within the CSA Department, reporting directly to the CSA Department Manager. As a senior member of the team, He/She will bring their extensive design and technical expertise to the table. Their primary responsibility will be to build relationships, effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders at all levels as required.

The Senior Architect, being a registered Architect, will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and possess notable experience in both design and technical aspects. They will actively contribute to the end-to-end project deliverables, ensuring the successful completion of high-value projects for major Pharma clients.

Operating in a dynamic, high-pressure, and rapidly evolving environment, the Senior Architect will exhibit exceptional motivation to excel. They will display a keen interest and curiosity in all facets of the construction industry, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and advancements. As the technical lead, the Senior Architect will play a key role in prioritising and coordinating a team of technologists and designers. Their expertise will ensure the delivery of compliant building facilities in line with project requirements. Collaboration within a high-performance team will be paramount to success in this role.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the Senior Architect will support the CSA Team and CSA Manager effectively. They will work towards meeting expectations, maintaining relationships, and upholding our interests.

Responsibilities:

  • Interfacing with client design team/end users

  • Delivery of design scope within budget hours/schedule

  • Pharma/Facility layout, product flows, separation & adjacency planning.

  • Code review and statutory compliance.

  • Leading design team to achieve project deliverables.

  • Technical input and support for process design team.

  • Participation in Technical and Safety reviews / Contribute to Code review and statutory compliance

  • Contribute to the standardization of Departmental Procedures, Check list and Guidelines

  • Establish good working relationships and communication with other Leads, Managers, and clients

  • Support the coordination of project activities with other disciplines as required

  • Visit client site (if required) during construction and understand improvements needed in design

  • Attend and contribute towards design and site meetings as required

  • Work towards compressed schedules and target deadlines

  • Conduct regular meetings with staff to discuss technical, procedural, and operational issues and work practices, and to formulate areas for improvement along with possible solutions

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 – 10 years post graduate experience ideally in the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences or Bio- pharma sectors. However, Commercial & Industrial sectors may also be considered

  • Must have key experience on projects in excess of €5m TDC for CSA works

  • In depth knowledge of Statutory Consent Processes, Building Regulations and BC(A)R process is essential

  • Demonstrable design, technical and construction knowledge is essential for this role

  • Strong detailing, in depth knowledge of building cladding systems, clean room modular systems, design development and tender pack assembly experience

  • Specialist experience in key technical areas to include but not limited to OSD, Filling suites, packaging area requirements, cleanroom layouts & laboratory design experience desirable with good knowledge of utility requirements.

  • Strong working knowledge of software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Enscape, Sketchup, Photoshop (or equivalent)
