NRL are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement of packages and support the procurement of specialist packages for a large battery manufacturing project in northern Germany. The project, part of the in Northern Germany, is of significant scale and requires exceptional service delivery to our client.
Key Responsibilities
As the Procurement Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Local Contractor Sourcing: Collaborate with the Procurement Director to identify and engage local contractors for delivering the Shell & Core and Architectural Fitout Packages.
- Technical Fitout Packages: While international suppliers will handle MEP, Fire Safety Systems, and Clean & Dry Rooms, your role will involve providing local support to ensure seamless integration.
- Tender Preparation: Work closely with the design team to prepare material take-offs and develop a schedule of rates for the first-stage tender.
- Tender Administration: Compile tender documents and manage the tender process using the SourceDogg Procurement Portal.
- Mid-Bid Queries and Interviews: Address queries from bidders during the bidding process and conduct interviews as needed.
- Post-Tender Negotiations: Lead negotiations with potential contractors and develop a derogations list.
- Technical Bid Analysis: Collaborate with the design team to analyze technical bids.
- Commercial Bid Analysis: Prepare a commercial bid analysis and tender recommendation for appointment under a PCSA (Pre-Construction Services Agreement).
- Detailed Pricing: As the design evolves, provide further releases of information and quantities to allow the appointed contractor to price in more detail.
- Contract Conclusion: Negotiate a fixed-price lump sum or other commercial agreement to conclude the second stage.
- Recommendation Report: Prepare a final analysis and recommendation report for appointing the contractor.
- Contract Formation and Onboarding: Facilitate contract formation and ensure a smooth handoff to the Commercial Team.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience in tendering and letting large-scale industrial buildings within the German marketplace.
- Language Proficiency: While technical German language proficiency is preferred, consideration will be given to non-German speakers who can demonstrate a strong understanding of the German procurement process.
- Hybrid Working across Northern Germany is ideally required, as is flexibility to occasionally attend meetings in the UK and Ireland
