NRL are currently recruiting for a Smart Solutions Business Development Consultant, on behalf of our client, a leading energy and services provider. This role will be based in London/Leeds on a full-time permanent position.
 

Role Responsibilities:
  • Delivery of personal and sector sales targets
  • Continuously evolve and promote the smart buildings strategy plans
  • Proactively build client relationships to maintain a strong pipeline and win rate
  • Successfully lead the smart solutions elements of large complex bids to sector clients
  • Compliance with our Client’s governance processes
  • Support organic growth and retention of current contracts
  • Explore existing client base, working with key stakeholders across the business, to identify opportunities of upsell
  • Support internal training and education to the core BD teams, ensuring they are familiar with smart buildings products and services
  • Engaging and networking with key individuals and teams across the business
  • Feed into the product development and value proposition process, supporting product management with the development of new solutions in line with the demands of the market place
  • Actively maintain a strong knowledge on our client’s, industry, client, sector and competitor trends
  • Work with a variety of internal, external and sister company sources to research and analyse prospective opportunities, markets and propositions
  • Actively manage the assigned routes to market and identify and attend networking events
  • Engage and nurture relationships across the industry which will generate new business opportunities
  • Keep all stakeholders informed as opportunities progress through the cycle
  • Attend and/or lead internal and external client engagement including scoping exercises, workshops and presentations
  • Comply with all pre-bid governance processes to ensure authority to proceed
  • To ensure client insights/needs are included within our solutions
  • Identify areas where our Client's solutions are poor and propose innovation or improvements
  • Work cross functionally with solution design, operations and digital services teams to develop industry leading innovative bid solutions
  • Engage directly with solutions architecture team to ensure the right technical solutions are built to meet clients requirements
  • Work closely with internal bid writing teams, ensuring continuous engagement to create winning submissions
  • Work with graphics and marketing teams to develop collateral for bid inclusion and general marketing documentation
  • Ensure all stakeholders are briefed on submissions as they progress
  • Work either in an ownership or support role with bid teams including SMEs, estimators, bid support, supply chain, commercial and operations as appropriate
  • Work closely with the Energy With Services team to ensure that the technical solution for each customer is approved
  • Lead opportunities through to financial and commercial closure with the client
  • Lead the smooth hand over to mobilisation and operational teams
  • Support BUCC, UK CC and Group CC level meetings to present bid strategy
  • Deep operational understanding of Engie’s Smart Buildings and Smart Solutions business area
  • Strong understanding of operational FM practices and experience of business improvement activities  
  • Knowledge of mobilisations and key processes which govern financial, commercial, safety and performance of business
  • Support the development of collateral and other sales material, including value propositions 
  • Support business wide marketing campaigns and events
  • Support the Red / Purple Team Review for other bids
  • Flexibility to support the business as needs arise
 

Role Responsibilities:
  • Previous experience in Business Development with strong understanding of our Client's services: Controls and Smart Buildings
  • Holds a relevant degree in business/finance/economics/engineering or similar relevant subject or equivalent
  • Energetic, self confident and self disciplined person
  • Strong influencing and interpersonal skills with proven ability to quickly build relationships with customers.
  • Articulate, innovative and challenging mindset with Strong collaborative style
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team and work under pressure to strict deadlines
  • Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Appreciation of Strategic, Financial, Risk Analysis & Business Assurance systems
