NRL are currently recruiting for a Tendering Engineer for a permanent role based in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

We are looking for a Tendering Engineer to join our client’s Renewables team.
This is a varied role where you’ll prepare and deliver high-quality technical and commercial tender submissions that meet customer requirements.
Working closely with sales, project, and engineering teams, you will play a key part in helping our client secure future projects and support their mission in the offshore energy sector.
What you’ll be doing
Reviewing client documentation and specifications, clarifying any uncertainties to ensure a strong basis for tender submissions.
Coordinating all technical and supporting documentation prior to management approval and timely submission.
Managing client clarifications and preparing responses, including attending customer meetings when required.
Supporting the tendering process from initial enquiry through to order acceptance, ensuring deadlines and customer requirements are met.
Producing accurate, high-quality output in all aspects of tender documentation.
Collaborating with colleagues across departments to gather input and ensure completeness of tenders.
Ensuring compliance with internal procedures, standards, and design manuals, or seeking appropriate approvals when exceptions are needed.
Identifying and recording potential risks, working with relevant teams to mitigate or manage them.
Supporting the order acceptance and handover process by reviewing customer purchase orders and engaging relevant departments.
Contributing to continuous improvement of tendering processes, systems, and procedures.
What we’re looking for
Proven experience in a tendering, proposals, or technical offshore wind role (preferably within the energy industry).
Strong technical and commercial awareness, ideally with knowledge of subsea cables and/or offshore industry experience.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex proposals under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Confident communicator with strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively across teams and with customers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM systems is an advantage.
Strong problem-solving approach with a focus on quality and continuous improvement.
HND or Degree in Engineering or related discipline (preferred)
