Nrl are recruiting for a Weighbridge Operator for an initial 3 month contract potentially leading to perm for the right candidate 

To provide efficient and effective weighbridge operation for the facility ensuring that all vehicles carrying waste or recyclables are weighed on entering and exiting the facility in compliance with all statutory regulations and requirements whilst also delivering key administration tasks such as accurately completing all associated weigh documentation.

  • To respond to public, trade and other queries directly and by telephone in a pleasant and efficient manner
  • Maintain the best operational relationship between the public, other customers and client representatives
  • Deal courteously with complaints and enquiries 
  • Ensure acceptance of waste complies with Duty of Care and Special Waste Regulations where appropriate
  • To undertake routine computer and weighbridge alterations or adjustments where possible to do so in accordance with procedures
 Safety and Operations
  • Act as a personal role model to colleagues in driving adherence to core procedures, policies and systems
  • Undertake the operation of the weighbridge and accompanying general administrative duties including recording weights & waste type by vehicle, whilst ensuring completion of the appropriate documentation in line with Environmental Regulations, as and when required
  • Ensure Waste Acceptance Criteria is adhered to at all times
  • To comply with all Quality Management Systems, quality procedures and working practices
 People and Processes
  • Engage collaboratively with the team to deliver and improve service and reinforce the clients culture and values
  • Efficiently input data onto the weighbridge from vehicles collecting/delivering to the site
  • Represent the clients values and act as a personal role model when communicating with new clients
  • Ensure all site visitors have received full Health & Safety induction and are wearing the correct PPE
  • To set the weighbridge and on-site computer in accordance with written procedures

Professional Profile:
NVQ level 3 qualification in a relevant area or experience in a waste related environment (Technical/Administrative)

  • Customer service background would be desirable
  • Experience of maintaining compliance of paperwork
  • Experience of dealing with customer complaints and escalating appropriately

  • Sound safety knowledge to undertake the duties associated with the role including an understanding of close call reporting.
  • Basic numeracy, literacy and IT skills. Understanding risk assessments / safe systems of work and working in accordance with them.
