1042071 – Workshop Manager

Our client in the Somerset area specialise in high quality manufacturing. They pride themselves on being able to deliver to our customers, from design concept through to installation. Due to continued growth they are now looking to appoint a Fabrication Workshop Manager to join the team.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Carbon and stainless-steel workshops ensuring that the team are working in the most efficient way.

It is the Fabrication Workshop Managers’s responsibility to ensure that the workshops are organised and maintained to safe and efficient standard.

Effective teamwork is crucial to the role and will involve working closely with production planning to ensure that all work activities are delegated in the best possible way. You must be able to demonstrate knowledge of people management as the role will require skills such as-
  • Managing a team of up to 25 people
  • Developing of individuals
  • Personal development reviews (PDRs)
  • Monitoring of timekeeping
  • Giving positive and effective negative feedback
  • Managing any conflicting situations

The role will be an integral part of the business and if you are comfortable and confident with the tasks above, we would love to hear from you. Some further information on the skillset you will need to succeed in this role;

Requirements
  • Ideally 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Good knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Office
  • Ideally working experience of continuous improvement and workplace organisation such as 5S, which would be preferred.
