Billingham
Billingham is a town and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It is situated to the south east of Stockton on Tees, on the north bank of the River Tees. The town has a population of around 16,000. It's known locally as the 'Gateway to Tyneside' and is a great place for shopping, travel, sports and entertainment. It has many things to do, from museums and theatres to parks and traditional seaside fun.
The engineering sector in Billingham is well established and has a long history, with several companies based in and around the area employing thousands of local people. The sector offers many different types of employment including apprenticeships, technician level jobs and highly skilled engineers which are in demand worldwide.
Billingham offers an excellent and varied choice of transport links. The town is served by the A1(M) Motorway and is only fifteen miles from Middlesbrough, which has a major rail network serving the whole of the north east of England. From Billingham there are direct trains to Darlington, Stockton-on-Tees, Newcastle upon Tyne, York, Hull and Scarborough.
