Stord
Stord is a Norwegian island located in Vestland county and is part of the traditional district of Sunnhordland. It is part of the municipalities of Stord and Fitjar and is situated in the middle of Sunnhordland, the population is around 20,000 people. The island has historical importance and interesting scenery.
Stord is home to several engineering companies, many of which specialise in offshore oil installations and onshore facilities for oil recovery.
Stord is one of Norway's largest islands, and it is a key transport link between Bergen and Stavanger. The main means of transport around Stord is by bus. There are also ferries available to take you across to Ask, Norway and beyond.
