The city of Worcester is located west of Birmingham and north of Gloucester, in the county of Worcestershire. Its population is over 600,000. Worcester is famous for its 12th century cathedral, which is one of the most impressive cathedrals in England. It also has modern attractions, such as the old Guildhall and museums.
Worcester is home to a growing number of businesses in the engineering sector, with more than 800 currently employing over 20,000 people. There are a wide range of companies in this sector, from large manufacturers to specialist suppliers that provide components for large machines.
Worcester has two bus stations and a number of bus companies which provide services to Worcester and other parts of the West Midlands. The train station is situated just outside the city centre and provides services to Birmingham, Hereford and London.
