A large engineering company is looking to recruit an Apprenticeships & Levies Associate to work on a 6 month contract. This is a remote working position.

The Role:
Working alongside the recruitment team and line managers, you will help to source the correct apprenticeship providers, apprenticeship courses, handle setting up apprenticeship contracts with providers, setting up apprentices in the DAS system. You will also be managing ECITB levy claims process.

  • Use understanding of UK education system and apprenticeship Standards to advise/input to convert business request for an apprentice into an appropriate recommendation of an Apprenticeship for a particular role

  • Work with L&TM colleagues and business managers on requests for established employees to embark on apprenticeships where appropriate

  • Help line managers to manage their apprentices, including guidance on frequency of contact during any full-time-at-college periods

  • Coach line managers on managing apprentice performance issues

  • Step in to manage any provider issues and/or apprentice academic issues which fall outside of line management realm

  • Balance utilisation of apprenticeship levy with the 20% cost of time associated with apprenticeships and propose alternatives where using apprenticeship levy is not the best solution for a particular role or educational need

  • Lead presentations/conversations with local and wider management on apprenticeship and levy matters

  • Work with Resource Management and Early Careers to develop & implement apprentice strategy including attraction, talent pipeline and apprentice development.


You will need:
You must have in depth knowledge and understanding of UK Qualifications levels and overall understanding of how apprenticeships work.

  • Experience in HR and/or L&D Consulting

  • Apprenticeship program experience

  • Previous experience in a consulting or engineering firm

  • MS Office Suite

  • Learning management systems
