Civil/Structural Engineer – Design Substantiation | Nuclear New Build

Complex structures. Critical safety.

If you’ve got experience substantiating large reinforced concrete designs in the nuclear sector, this is your opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
We’re supporting one of the UK’s flagship nuclear new build programmes — and we need a civil/structural engineer who thrives on technical challenge, collaboration, and precision.
You’ll be central to the structural design substantiation process — developing SDMSs, producing DSRs, and contributing to the safety case for one of the UK’s most important energy projects. If you’ve worked on HPC or SZC, you’ll hit the ground running. If not, but you’ve got nuclear experience and the mindset to adapt fast, we still want to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Authoring SDMSs and DSRs that underpin the safety case.
  • Solving technical challenges and supporting root cause investigations.
  • Collaborating with principal engineers and project leads to deliver smart, safe solutions.
  • Producing high-quality technical documentation that stands up to scrutiny.
What you’ll bring:
  • A degree in civil engineering (MEng, MSc, BEng, or BSc).
  • Experience with reinforced concrete structures and design substantiation.
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes and ideally the French ETC-C code.
  • FEA modelling skills and a sharp eye for validation and verification.
  • Nuclear sector experience — HPC/SZC exposure is a bonus.
  • A proactive mindset, strong communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Why this project?
It’s not just about infrastructure — it’s about impact. Join a team that values innovation, integrity, and delivery. Help shape the future of clean energy in the UK.
