Construction Site Manager
NRL are recruiting for a Construction Site Manager to be based on a site in the South of England. This role is a hands-on position providing a pivotal role in the project’s success. Working on a highly regulated site with exposure to nuclear regulations you will be tasked with the safe delivery of a project. Please note this role is inside IR35.
Responsibilities
Be the focal point for the Company, Customer and sub-contractors.
Ensure all activities are planned, assessed and managed so that risks or hazards are adequately identified and controlled to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules and procedures.
Set and uphold standards and expectations in line with Company initiatives such as People Who Do the Right Thing and People Who Lead Safely.
Organise and obtain sufficient resources to deliver the applicable work scope as described in the contract and/or project documentation.
Oversee the implementation of work to ensure that it meets the required technical and quality standards - hence delivered right first time.
Ensure suitable Safe Systems of Work (Risk Assessments, Methods Statements etc.) are produced so that supervisors and work teams can be effectively set to work, supervised, and are provided with adequate instruction and information to complete the work task safely.
Manage and control sub-contractors where applicable.
Review and assess training and competency records of personnel (including those of sub-contractors) to ensure that those assigned to undertake tasks are competent to do so.
Provide regular reports, information, and statistics to the Company and/or Customer to demonstrate performance against Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost criteria.
Carry out regular workplace inspections to ensure compliance with relevant Company and Customer standards, expectations, rules, and procedures.
Immediately report any unplanned events or incidents in line with Company and Customer procedures.

Requirements
Experience working in a highly regulated environment, ideally nuclear or defence
CSCS Card
CSCS Black Card – Desirable
Engineering knowledge
CDM Knowledge
Degree Qualified or Vocational with extensive experience
Ability to write documentation
Contractor Management experience
Highly organised and ability to build relationships at all levels
