NRL are currently recruiting for a Drainage Engineer to work with a client of ours based in London Bridge. This is a 6-month contract position and will be a hybrid of site-based and remote working.
Role Responsibilities:
Champion a holistic approach (covering both drainage and flood risk) to achieving long-term resilient infrastructure which supports safe and efficient operation of the proposed service.
Effectively identify and manage the risks associated with external factors, including but not limited to, climate change, third party water management and other asset owners as required.
Promote sustainable design, including efficient application of design standards and codes.
Support the production and management of a fully integrated design and construction of the drainage and flood risk elements of the railway including but not limited to: land, track formation, cross track, earthwork, highway, structures and station drainage, plus associated attenuation and storage features.
Role Requirements:
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse complex data (quantitative and qualitative), draw conclusions, and produce solutions and decisions.
Knowledge of best practice in an engineering and technical environment across the asset lifecycle.
The ability to identify and escalate risks, issues and conflicts as necessary.
Strong communication and presentation.
The ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
Confidence in dealing with high levels of uncertainty and ambiguity in a constantly changing and challenging environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of transport engineering with specific rail experience, covering specification, design, implementation and maintenance.
Experience of working as part of as part of an Engineering Team proving support to large, technically complex, safety focused and regulated projects, where there are multiple, complex interfaces.
The proven ability to review and assure engineering solutions within a complex technical environment.
Appreciation of relevant legislation, standards and HSSE regulations.
Experience of facilitating and driving innovation in an engineering and technical environment.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering or equivalent experience and training
Chartered or Incorporated Civil or Water Engineer, or equivalent industry reputation.
