E&I Construction Package Lead

Location: London 

Overview:

Currently recruiting for a E&I Construction Package Lead who will be based in the clients London office full time initally then based in Wales. This is a contract role for 12 months.

The E&I Construction Package Lead is responsible for managing, coordinating, all electrical and instrumentation construction activities within assigned project packages. This role ensures delivery in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, schedule, and budget. The position acts as the primary interface between construction teams, engineering and procurement

Responsibilities:
    • Accountable for the safe and timely preparation and execution of the Construction work scope, in adherence with Project HSEQ safety targets, procedures and practices.
    • Demonstrate high profile and visible safety leadership by example and communication with teams.
    • Accountable for ensuring all E&I Construction workscopes are planned in accordance with Project Construction specifications, standards and procedures.
    • Accountable for developing the E&I Construction strategy and approving Construction procedures.
    • Provide E&I Construction input into Project strategies, subcontractor SOWs, procedures, design phase, plans and schedules.
    • Coordinate interfaces with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth workflow and avoid clashes.
    • Manage thorough the AWP Construction Workpack reviews and assess whether scope requirements are met – ie. Constructability of the design, safety, estimates, materials and tooling etc.
    • Where required, identify, estimate and escalate requirement for Construction growth against the baseline estimate. Liaise with Project Controls / Planning to ensure approved growth hours are input into the Project Schedule.
    • Provide a link between the Construction, Engineering and Subcontracts departments of the project – assist with site surveys, design changes, constructability etc.
    • Attend / input in project meetings – daily / weekly / monthly.
    • Liaise with Project personnel to identify and deliver early Construction / Project gains.
    • Interface with Project Management and Client representatives on all matters applicable to E&I Construction activities, including identification of issues or concerns which may impact project delivery.
    • Liaise with the Project Engineering office to ensure P&ID's and other drawings are produced in line with AWP requirements & priorities.
Qualifications:

  • Minimum HNC in an Engineering related subject or Trade Apprenticeship with appropriate Technical Qualification
  • 10 years’ Senior experience in the Engineering Construction Industry
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Stakeholders involved in the Project both verbally & in writing. Methodical work ethic; ensuring consistency in output. Capable of working independently
  • Fully conversant with Project Management Systems with extensive knowledge of Project Construction practices and procedures
  • Staff management experience (knowledge transfer)
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Experience in EPCM execution
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrable experience in similar role or senior position in Construction
  • Extensive knowledge of the construction process, its implementation and management.
  • Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals
  • Knowledge of AWP Methodology & Experience in the implementation

Desirable
  • A strong communication, networking, collaboration and well-developed team-working skills, especially in multi-discipline and multi-cultural teams
  • A full knowledge of project specific execution strategies, and the ability to develop them to meet challenging project objectives and deliverables
  • An ‘Incident Free’ mind-set, and be a role model for their project team (Direct/Indirect hires)
  • A proven HSSE leadership in managing and delivering large complex onshore projects
  • A full understanding of how all elements of the project scope integrate and interface with each other and are managed to successfully deliver the right project outcome - from construction, and through to commissioning and handover to operations
