NRL are currently recruiting a motivated Graduate Engineer to join an exciting client developing a new design and manufacturing centre of excellence in the growing area of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS).


Our client is working towards the future moving from manned to a combined manned/unmanned environment where Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) will become a fixed feature in the skies. Currently owing to the significant safety considerations, civilian drones can only operate in UK airspace with special clearance and in a restricted manner and this is just one of the challenges to be overcome as the technology matures.


This is an opportunity for someone to be involved a fast-paced, developing industry which will be a large industry sector for years to come. The role is with a client that are keen to be at the forefront of the industry and despite being a mature consultancy, still maintain that exciting ‘start-up’ mentality.

About the role:

developing a UAV / UAS design and manufacturing capability. Supported by Senior Engineering personnel, the successful candidate will be involved in:
  • Driving CAD software
  • Running Design Analysis
  • Supporting the integrated project team with tasks to drive projects forwards
  • Suppoting with operational analysis
  • Liaising with Suppliers and providing specifications where appropriate
  • Various other project related tasks as required in the design / manufacting process

The successful candidate will have:

Essential
  • Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical / Aeronautical / Electrical / Electronics / Control Systems etc.)
  • Flexible mentality Design experience Self-starter, ability to work independently within a supportive environment
  • Experience with Autonomous Systems / Vehicles
