About the role:
- As QC Inspector you will be responsible for providing independent quality control services across a range of Nuclear building services disciplines.
- The services are provided at vendors’, potential vendors’, or other participating entities’ and on the Nuclear site.
- You will be an experienced Inspector, fit, able to work at height and confined spaces. As an experienced Mechanical Inspector, professionally you will have a high level of written and verbal communication skills and be able to operate on sites with minimal supervision.
- Your role will involve working in a client facing environment on sites with differing working cultures. As such you will be demonstrating excellent customer service skills and the ability to problem solve.
- Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with both internal and external customers.
- Deliver independent inspection and quality control services at operating sites and vendors relating to new equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
- Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQR’s.
- Review of site installation of HVAC systems and associated plant items.
What you will need:
- Previous experience working as a Quality inspector ideally with a building service recognised sub-contractor.
- Able to communicate with subcontractors, consultants, and other team members.
- Experience in quality inspection – walk mechanical services systems and check in accordance with the installation drawing’s / specification.
- Be efficient with Microsoft outlook, word and excel.
- Ability to obtain relevant security/ Nuclear clearance.
- Ability to attend and pass all mandatory Sellafield training courses.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the inspection of Welded fabrications / manufactured equipment for nuclear and conventional power generation applications would be ideal for this position.
- Sound understanding and qualification where necessary in materials, welding and NDE techniques.
- Have a good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection within the nuclear industry or transferable experience from another high hazard industry.
- Experience and understanding or the ability to learn nuclear and conventional codes and standards relating to HVAC Systems.
- Be able to demonstrate a proactive, self-motivated approach to technical and non-technical work.
- Have experience of managing a range of stakeholders and will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of influencing and negotiating, particularly in technical discussions relating to Inspection.
- Have good technical writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of the Customers quality requirements.
- Good working knowledge and application of ISO 9001.
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes.
