About the Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Operations Manager to support a major nuclear infrastructure portfolio within the Energy division of a leading consultancy and engineering organisation.

This is a high-impact role supporting one of the UK’s most complex and strategically significant infrastructure programmes, playing a key part in the delivery of a new nuclear power station and contributing directly to the UK’s Net Zero ambitions. The role combines people leadership, operational excellence, and stakeholder management, offering the opportunity to shape and scale a growing team while ensuring robust, compliant, and efficient operational delivery across the portfolio.

The Role As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a growing multidisciplinary team, ensuring effective recruitment, mobilisation, engagement, and ongoing capability development. You will act as a critical interface between the project portfolio and central operational and corporate functions, ensuring consistency of process, governance, and delivery.
You will be hands-on in supporting line managers, enabling seconded team members, and fostering a positive, engaged, and high-performing team culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead recruitment and resourcing activities, including interviews and candidate selection
  • Oversee mobilisation, onboarding, vetting, and offboarding processes
  • Manage team capability development, training coordination, and career progression
  • Support promotions and enable effective line management of seconded staff
  • Coordinate team briefings, engagement initiatives, and social activities
  • Ensure consistent implementation of operational processes and procedures
  • Act as the primary liaison with central operational teams and corporate functions
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, governance, and assurance requirements
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to operate in complex environments
  • Proven experience in recruitment, resourcing, and developing teams, including technical roles
  • Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder engagement capability
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate objectives into delivery
  • Solid understanding of financial and commercial aspects of operations management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage at all levels
