The NRL Group are currently looking for an experienced Planning Engineer to deliver a significant work package on a major power generation construction project in the South West.
What will the role consist of?
- Preparation and maintenance of detailed budget loaded project schedules using Primavera P6.
- Ensuring adherence to project scheduling and governance standards.
- Creation of necessary project management tools including Gantt charts and histograms.
- Integration of engineering, procurement, and construction activities into a cohesive master schedule.
- Track progress against baseline schedules and identify variances.
- Produce regular progress reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for stakeholders.
- Conduct schedule risk analysis and propose mitigation strategies.
- Assess the impact of design changes, delays, and resource constraints on project timelines.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate schedule inputs.
- Facilitate planning meetings and workshops to align stakeholders on schedule priorities.
- Ensure adherence to nuclear industry regulations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
- Maintain documentation in line with project governance and audit requirements.
- Supporting change control and management processes, providing site management with necessary project analysis, generating performance indicators and highlighting areas of risk.
- Preparing progress reports regarding Earned Value Methodology.
- Generating necessary project KPI reports and project S-curves.

What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience working as a planning professional across major construction project(s)/ scope of works in the power generation or other similar industry
- Experience with NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience in construction, engineering or other related discipline
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using Primavera P6 planning software
- General IT skills including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
