Job Title: Senior Process Designer – FEED Project (Outside IR35)

Location: Woking, Surrey (Hybrid – 4 Days/Week)

Duration: 12 Months initially

Join a globally recognised engineering consultancy headquartered in Woking, delivering cutting-edge solutions to the energy and petrochemical sectors. This role supports the delivery of a major FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) for a high-profile refinery project.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Process Designer to lead and develop process design deliverables for a major FEED project. You will be responsible for producing high-quality drawings and documentation, translating engineering concepts into practical design outputs using industry-standard CAD tools. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop process design deliverables including:

    • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)

    • Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)

  • Ensure drawings are accurate and incorporate corrections from check prints prior to submission.

  • Translate engineering concepts into practical design drawings using CAD tools such as:

    • AutoCAD

    • SmartPlant P&ID

    • PDMS / E3D

    • Plant 3D or equivalent

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure alignment with project specifications and safety standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Process Engineering (or equivalent technical qualification).

  • Minimum qualification: Certificate in Drafting Trade.

  • Significant experience in process design within oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, or related industries.

  • Proficiency in design software including:

    • AutoCAD

    • SmartPlant P&ID

    • PDMS / E3D

    • Plant 3D

  • Strong understanding of process and piping design principles, equipment layout, and safety design.

  • Saudi Aramco experience highly desirable.

Working Arrangement:

  • Hybrid working model: 4 days/week in the office

  • Office location: Woking, Surrey
