NRL are happy to be recruiting a structural designer to help with a billion-dollar, international, large chemicals processing facility.

The position is located in Stockton.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the required technical quality of work
  • Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process
  • Execute design and draughting activities to produce deliverables associated with the allocated work scope, including E3D activities to facilitate the production, while requiring minimum input from engineering personnel.
  • Ensure that designs comply with the relevant procedures and regulations
  • Ensure that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule
  • Provide input to estimates and schedules and assist in their review
  • Maintain good communication with the client and visit sites when necessary
  • Provide technical assistance to all personnel as required, across discipline to facilitate delivery.
  • Ensure engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, etc.
  • Prepare work scope packages for distribution to other locations.
  • Facilitate discussions with Senior Designers and Designers relating to design and preparation of drawing issues, providing technical guidance, support and training when required. Ensuring that all discipline personnel are working in alignment and following best practices.
  • Signing and checking of drawings and documents in accordance with correct procedures.
Requirements
  • HND or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject
  • E3D or PDMS Experience
  • Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting function.
  • In depth knowledge of CAD draughting techniques.
  • Conversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting function.
  • Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting for draughting function.
  • Able to estimate man-hours and materials for delegated aspects of work.
