Duties will include: 

  • Participate in project system design reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, commissioning and handovers to ensure safe and efficient design for operational use 
  • Modify or create necessary work procedures to ensure they enable safe and efficient operations within the CCR operating model 
  • Provide 24/7 support to operations: maintaining safety and optimising production by operating and proactively monitoring all plant and equipment. This includes wind turbines, balance of plant and electrical system infrastructure 
  • Perform Control Engineer duties under the Equinor Wind Electrical Safety Rules, including switching operations 
  • Undertake relevant training and qualifications to become authorised Control Room Operator 
  • Develop a strong team culture with other operators 
  • Participate in project system design reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, commissioning and handovers to ensure safe and efficient design for operational use 
  • Control personnel access and work through the safe system of work 
  • Communication role within the 2nd line emergency response organisation 
  • Handle instructions from National Grid 
  • Marine coordination, including weather monitoring and Report operational faults and risks 
  • Support integration of future wind farms, including commissioning 
  • Continuously improve working practices and governance 


Qualifications 
  • Experience of electrical power systems and safe systems of work 
  • Experience of working with high voltage safety rules and associated procedures 
  • Fully IT literate and Fluent English oral and writing 
  • HND, degree or equivalent in an electrical or automation (instrumentation and control) background (relevant experience may compensate for formal qualifications) 
  • Preferable: experience as Control Room Operator or working with SCADA systems within power generation 
  • Preferable: working knowledge of wind farm plant and equipment 
  • Preferable: experience as a Senior Authorised Person
