Duties will include: 
  • Participate in transmission system and automation design reviews, technical clarifications, acceptance tests, system walkdowns and handovers as the O&M representative for ensuring safe and efficient design for operational use 
  • Define and plan maintenance and inspection strategies and lead relevant O&M contract preparations and tenders 
  • Be responsible for safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the HVDC transmission assets and substation automation systems, including day-to-day interface with OFTO and management of transmission contractors 
  • Review loss of availability from transmission system and performance of substation automation systems, provide analysis and collaborate to recommend improvements to asset and maintenance 
  • Ensure high quality maintenance and safety information is captured and processed in corporate systems in line with management system processes 
  • Prepared to be part of an on-call rotation for the windfarms 

Qualifications: 
  • Knowledge and/or experience in transmission/distribution systems and substation automation 
  • Strong collaboration skills and creative approach to problem solving
  • Proactive and open minded to furthering knowledge and experience base 
  • Be or become authorised as a Senior Authorised Person 
  • Prepared to do short term business travels offshore (and undertake required medical and safety training to do so) domestically and internationally if required 
  • Fluent English oral and writing 
  • Degree or HND in electrical/electronic engineering or similar
