The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HVAC Engineer to take on a commissioning-focused role within one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects, Hinkley Point C.

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful commissioning, integrity, and technical compliance of HVAC systems on site, working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

  • Act as the on-site focal point for HVAC commissioning and technical issues, liaising closely with the Responsible Designer when design intent is impacted.
  • Review and respond to technical queries, concession requests, and commissioning reservations from site and supplier teams.
  • Coordinate and manage HVAC system changes, either site based or via the Responsible Designer.
  • Maintain drawing and configuration control through the redline process or via the design authority.
  • Work collaboratively with Design Leads, Package Managers, Quality, Commissioning, and Construction teams to ensure HVAC system integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare, review, and execute commissioning test procedures, ensuring coverage and compliance with safety and design standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to site and construction teams, focusing on constructability and safe installation methodologies.
  • Participate actively in constructability and design reviews, offering practical input based on commissioning experience.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Extensive experience in HVAC engineering and design, ideally within large-scale or nuclear infrastructure projects.
  • Degree qualified in Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrable ability to read and interpret I&C (Instrumentation & Control) logic diagrams.
  • Prior commissioning experience particularly on nuclear sites or in developing commissioning procedures is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to develop fit for purpose technical solutions within complex, regulated environments.
  • Skilled in coordinating technical topics involving multiple disciplines (Mechanical, Fluid/HVAC, I&C) and external suppliers.
  • Excellent written communication, with strong skills in drafting test procedures and substantiation documents.
  • Detail oriented, methodical, and rigorous in the production and review of deliverables.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a high performance, safety critical environment.
