Location: Liverpool Docks

Start: ASAP

Own the controls. Shape the design. Deliver impact from day one.

We’re looking for a Senior EC&I Engineer (control systems bias) who can step straight into a major project and take real technical ownership across electrical, control and instrumentation deliverables. If you enjoy leading design packages, solving complex control architecture challenges, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams — this one will suit you perfectly.

What you’ll be doing
  • Delivering key EC&I design packages, including control architecture diagrams, loop diagrams, motor schematics, cable block routing, MCC layouts, and lighting specifications
  • Producing specifications, control philosophies, cause & effects, alarm lists, and test plans
  • Supporting site construction and commissioning when required
  • Collaborating with designers, draughtspersons and project stakeholders to maintain high‑quality EC&I deliverables
  • Inputting into risk assessments, design reviews and functional safety activities (SIL, verification, validation)
What you’ll bring
  • Strong EC&I design background across electrical systems, controls, instrumentation and safety systems
  • Experience with PLCs (Siemens / Allen‑Bradley) and industrial comms (Profibus, Profinet, Modbus)
  • Familiarity with BS7671 / IEC 60364 / BS EN 61439 cable design standards
  • Comfortable working with LV distribution, motors, MCCs and network architecture
  • AutoCAD proficiency + exposure to ETAP/AMTECH is a bonus
  • Knowledge of DSEAR/ATEX and functional safety (61508 / 61511)
