Project: M25 Junction 10 Improvement Scheme
Our esteemed client are actively seeking a highly experienced Highways Senior Project Manager to take ownership of the prestigious and challenging M25 Junction 10 Improvement Scheme. This is a senior leadership role where you will drive the project through to successful completion and handover.
You will be responsible for managing operations, ensuring commercial performance, and leading multidisciplinary teams in a live, complex highways environment. This role is ideal for a strong, commercially aware leader confident in managing major infrastructure works and key stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Leadership
- Lead and manage the delivery of all project outcomes in line with programme, budget, quality, and safety standards.
- Take full accountability for project deliverables through to practical completion and handover.
- Provide clear day‑to‑day leadership to the Operations team, setting expectations, roles, and objectives.
- Produce and maintain accurate resource forecasts aligned to the project programme.
- Lead financial forecasting, cost control, and commercial reporting to meet project targets.
- Work closely with Quantity Surveyors on cost planning, variations, and effective change control.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Act as a key liaison with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.
- Promote collaborative working to address challenges within a high-profile highways environment.
- Ensure full compliance with project contracts, standards, and procedures.
- Support contractual correspondence, compensation events, and pain/gain mechanisms.
- Maintain strong project governance and documentation throughout delivery.
- Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of project risks and opportunities.
- Implement strategies to minimise risk exposure and safeguard delivery outcomes.
- Encourage proactive risk management across teams and the supply chain.
- Proven track record as a Project Manager on major highways or large infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of delivering works within live, complex construction environments.
- Experience managing operations teams and multi‑disciplinary stakeholders.
- Excellent commercial acumen and experience working closely with QS teams.
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and client‑facing capabilities.
- Demonstrated experience taking on challenging projects and driving them to successful completion.
- Experience working on National Highways / Strategic Road Network projects.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience delivering complex junction or motorway improvement projects.
